Excellent “start” to a dangerously short list 🙂 My own favourites are just that… my own, so I won’t bother to name all of them. Suffice to say that anything from John leCarre,Len Deighton, Ian Fleming, Eric Ambler, Graham Greene, Mick Heron, and ADAM HALL in such a collection is most welcome. Without a doubt there is a healthy representation of British espionage films on this list, as there should be. Something about the detached British way of observing the contrasting problems in the spy game: spies break legal and moral laws with deception and disinformation in order to… maintain a legal and moral society made up of laws. Hmmm, tricky job. And the British writers add something extra to the recipe. There is a new explosion of British spy writers who are having their work sniffed at by Hollywood and the British cinema industry (ex: Charles Cumming, etc.), so I think this list will expand quite quickly. Thanks for all the work you do at SpyWrite and at SpyBrary. Very appreciated.
