The Slow Horses, but Muppets

Over the years we’ve had Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island, but what if we got, Muppet Slow Horses?

In this post we’ll fan cast our favorite Muppets as members of Slough House. To make it work I’ve pulled from both The Muppet Show and Sesame Street.

Jackson Lamb – Oscar the Grouch

Let’s be honest, this one is a no brainer right? Irritated by others, lives in filth, fashion sense is a literal garbage can. He ticks all the boxes.

River Cartwright – Kermit the Frog

Our ostensible leading man. Overexcited, perpetually put upon and always running to and fro.

Louisa Guy – Miss Piggy

The competent one of the bunch. Familiar with hand to hand combat. Although previously had a thing with Min has always had a bit of a will they/won’t they with River.

Catherine Standish – Janice

Catherine is a recovering addict and wild child. A dried out Janice fits the bill. Does this make Doctor Teeth Charles Partner?

Roddy Ho – Fozzie the Bear

He’s clueless, just wants to be liked, terrible at telling jokes and awful fashion sense.

Min Harper – Scooter

Lovable, tries his best but frequently out of his depth.

Shirley Dander – Animal

Out of control and with anger management problems.

Marcus Longridge – Sweetums

Big, burly and always ready to burst through a wall or gate to connect with colleagues in trouble.

Diana Taverner – Zoe

This is a newer character introduced for Sesame Street.

As the clip below shows, she has a the capacity to mess with your mind that is Taverner’s key skill.

Peter Judd – Uncle Deadly

He’s debonair and charming but dangerous.

  1. I think I would put Roddy down more as Gonzo than Fozzy because Gonzo is an inventor who gets burned a lot and Roddy is sort of useful with computers but just about nothing else, but otherwise can’t disagree with any of the others.

  2. Great post! What about a Hollywood casting? I’d say Austin Butler for River, Andie Macdowell for Catherine, Amber Hurd for Emma Flyte and Kristen Wiig for Louisa Guy to start with.
