This episode I talk with returning guest author Frank Sennett about episode 5,
We talk about that crazy ending, what’s the matter with River and misty morning airfields.
Plus is Taverner on the ropes, is a Safe House really safe with a Slow Horse in it and how Oldman has made Jackson Lamb fit him like a very tight glove.
Finally, we circle around to the question of whether we have we ever seen better banter?
All that and more in this episode!

Hmm, I feel you were very kind to everyone in this episode. I’m of the exact opposite view as regards the chase scenes (overblown and just time filling) and the River/Sidonie “tacked on” kiss, as though the writers had to remind us that Sid and River were almost an item at one point. Yes there was chemistry in the first series, but now it’s so flat.
And then, although a chance to show Lamb doing “tradecraft” – What The F… with the kids ballet class??? You never spoke about that very weird section. Yes, okay, nice to see him in a bookshop (I kept looking out for Mick Herron books!) but why?
The best thing was the little Easter Egg, which I’m surprised you didn’t mention:
Russian woman: What’s her name?
Lamb: Matilda
